In collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United Republic of Tanzania, the Overseas Chinese Service Center and Jiteng and Anne Associates, Tanzania Revenue Authority held a Taxation Seminar for the Chinese Community in Dar es Salaam. It was the first Taxation Seminar in 2018 that was presented to the Chinese Community and was held at the Overseas Chinese Service Center on the 15th April, Sunday.

Despite the heavy rains, over 150 participants made their way to the venue for some insight. Topics covered that day were about Taxes in Tanzania, Customs, and the Economic Processing Zone (EPZ). TRA also encouraged Chinese Traders to look for qualified accountants/tax consultants as it seems to be a common problem of hiring fake accountants whom cause a lot of trouble for both taxpayers and TRA.

It was a fruitful Seminar to both parties, challenges were addressed and questions asked. We hope that all participants were encouraged by this Seminar to proceed tax payments accordingly, to follow the regulations and procedures of the law and to find the right accountant/tax consultant for their company.
